Basic Pre + Post Care Instructions
(Additional customized instructions will be given to you by your provider.)
INJECTABLES
For all injectable treatments, it is preferred that patients do not come to their appointment with make-up on.
Tox
To avoid bruising with neurotoxin and fillers, a week before your cosmetic injection appointment, we recommend stop taking: aspirin, ibuprofen, Excedrin, Motrin, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, flax oil, cod liver oil, fish oil, vitamin A, vitamin E and other essential fatty acids. Also, avoid drinking alcohol a few days before your treatment. Do not stop prescriptions from your doctor. Do not exercise for the first 24 hours after your appointment. When used as directed, Arnica may help prevent bruising and swelling, and is highly recommended about 5 days prior to your service. You may not receive injectable treatments if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Fillers
EYES + CHEEKS
DO NOT RUB OR MASSAGE the treated area immediately following your treatment. When cleansing your face or applying makeup, use gentle, sweeping motions to avoid excessive mobility of the area. Avoid strenuous exercise for the remainder of the treatment day. Bruising at the treatment site may occur. You may resume other normal activities immediately. Temporary, minimal to moderate swelling may be expected. Apply cool compresses to the area treated (avoiding pressure). It may be normal to experience some tenderness at the treatment site that can last for a few hours or, at times, a couple of days. You may take acetaminophen/Tylenol if you experience any mild tenderness or discomfort. Wait a minimum of four weeks before receiving any laser treatments.
LIPS
SAME AS ABOVE plusDO NOT RUB OR MASSAGE lips for 4 hours post treatment.
PC/DC fat dissolving of NECK

Avoid vigorous exercise, sun and heat exposure for 3-5 days after treatment. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, Niacin supplement, high-sodium foods, high sugar foods, refined carbohydrates, spicy foods and cigarettes 24-48 hours after your treatment. These items may contribute to increased swelling or irritation. Avoid cosmetic treatments such as injectables, laser, ultrasound, peels, facials or micro-dermabrasion to the PC/DC treatment area for 3-4 weeks post treatment.
Sculptra or Radiesse Facial Rejuvenation
PRE TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
- Massage treated areas five times a day for five minutes for five days after the treatment.
- You can wear make up a few hours after the procedure.
- Treated areas, maybe red, swollen, and bruised for our first 2 to 7 days.
- Do not get a facial or a massage for two weeks after your filler procedure.
- Avoid strenuous workout and alcohol for 24 hours if possible.
- You may apply, topical, arnica gel, drink, fresh pineapple, juice, and/or take bromelain supplement to help bruising resolve faster.
LASER
For all treatments, it is required that patients do NOT come to their appointment with make-up on, especially for resurfacing lasers. You may not receive any laser treatments if you are lactating or pregnant.
IPL (Intensed Pulsed Light)
Please discontinue use of any active products (retinols, acids, or anything tingly when you put it on the skin) at least 3-5 days prior to your appointment.
Please avoid significant sun exposure at least 2 weeks before and after treatment.
CO2 + Laser Peel
- No significant sun exposure, tanning bed, or spray tan for 2 weeks before treatment.
- No Accutane (Isotretinoin) use within the past 6 months.
- If you are prone to fever blisters/cold sores, you will need to take a prophylactic antiviral (Valtrex, Famvir, Acyclovir) the day before, of, and after treatment (up to several days post-treatment).
- Stop using Retin-A, salicylics and glycolics for 48-72 hours pre and post treatment.
- Arrive one hour prior to procedure appointment time for numbing preparation.
- Please bring an umbrella to use when you leave hela post appointment to shield your face from the sun in rain/clouds/shine. You may not receive laser treatments if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
DAY OF TREATMENT
Keep treated areas covered with topical ointment/cream/exosome as instructed by physician.
Apply cooling compresses.• May take an analgesic (Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen) for discomfort, if not contraindicated.
An anti-inflammatory diet is recommended for 7 days post treatment to aid in the reduction of swelling.
FIRST NIGHT
Sleep on back with head elevated to reduce eyelid swelling.
Make sure to use a clean pillow slip to avoid transferring bacteria to the skin.
DAYS 1 - 5
Skin will appear sunburned and may feel tight.
Avoid direct sunlight exposure and excessive heat.
- Cleanse the treated area gently with Balancing Cleansing Emulsion in AM and PM. Pat dry
- Apply Astringent Solution Powder compresses every 2-3 hours or as needed. Dissolve one packet of astringent solution powder in 12 oz. of water. The solution will be used throughout the day. Pour about 1 oz of the solution into a small clean cup. Cover remaining solution to be saved. Dip clean gauze in the gauze solution and press/pat wet gauze over the treated gauze by using firm pressure for 1-2 minutes (pressure will reduce swelling and oozing and will also help prevent scabbing).
- Apply a thin layer of soothing ointment all over the treated area AM and PM, or up to three times daily, after using astringent solution powder as a compress. Avoid applying excessive amounts, as it can lead to premature peeling and slower healing.
- Hydrating Cream should be applied immediately after soothing ointment and whenever skin feels dry throughout the day.
DAYS 6 - 8
Facial skin should begin peeling between days 3 and 6.
- Patients will continue steps 1,2, and 4 as described above.
- Soothing Ointment will no longer be used and will be replaced by firming serum.
- Hydrating Creme can be applied more liberally and more frequently.
- Sun protection should be applied in AM and reapplied throughout the day. Choose broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF powder SPF 50 or sunscreen SPF 45 may be used for quick application.
*It is recommended to wait until skin has re-epithelialized before incorporating Firming Serum and Sun Protection. Upon complete skin healing, transition to appropriate ZO protocol to maintain procedure results and ensure continuous skin health.
DAYS 8 - 28
Continue appropriate hydrating cream until skin has hydrated back to its normal level (3-4 weeks).
May start regular skin care program as long as treated area is healed.
Continue applying non-irritating sunblock (SPF 30+) and use mineral make-up (powder) to protect treated areas (Do not use liquid foundation as it may clog pores and irritate new skin).
Avoid exposure to excessive sun for up to 4 weeks (hat or clothing must be used to protect treated areas, umbrella is preferable initially so the hat doesn’t touch skin on forehead).
Laser Hair Removal
PRE TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
- The area to be treated must be clean-shaven. Unshaven clients will be rescheduled.
- Avoid UV exposure 7 days prior to your treatment. Patient who are sunburned or tanned must wait 2 weeks before being treated to avoid additional skin damage.
- Avoid chemical peels and other laser procedures in the area to be treated for 2 weeks prior and two weeks after your laser treatment
- Avoid all alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxyl products (AHA/BHA), hydroquinone, retinols/retinoid, Tazorac, and Differin for 7 days before treatment
- Clients with any abnormal lesions, moles or spots on the area to be treated must be cleared by a medical practitioner prior to treatment.
- No waxing, tweezing and chemical epilation 3 weeks prior to treatment
- If you are prone to cold sores, it is highly recommended to take an anti-viral medication (such as Valtrex) prior to your treatment. Clients with active cold sores will not be treated. Patients who have used Accutane or similar products within the last 6 months CANNOT have laser hair removal treatments.
- Do not perform any physical activity that increases body temperature or blood pressure within 2 hours before and after treatments.
- If you have Botox or dermal fillers in the area to be treated, wait 14 days both before and after injection to receive treatments.
- Antibiotics may increase photosensitivity. We recommend that you check with your personal physician prior to receiving laser treatments if you are taking antibiotics.
POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
- Avoid extended UV exposure for 7 days post-treatment.
- Tylenol is recommended for post-treatment discomfort.
Microneedling(RFMN or peN):
PRE TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

- Also, avoid drinking alcohol a few days before your treatment. Do not stop prescriptions from your doctor.
- Do not exercise for the first 24 hours after your appointment.
- Arnica may help prevent bruising and swelling, and is highly recommended about 5 days prior to your service.
- Avoid UV exposure 7 days prior to your treatment. Patient who are sunburned or tanned must wait 2 weeks before being treated to avoid additional skin damage.
- Avoid chemical peels and other laser procedures in the area to be treated for 2 weeks prior and two weeks after your laser treatment

- Drink lots of water day before and morning of procedure. Turn sure adequate PRP blood draw.
- Inform provider of history of cold sores prior to appointment. We can provide a prescription if needed to be started one day before the procedure.
POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
- Only when’s the face with water the night after treatment or even the next morning.
- If needed use a gentle cleanser, exosomes and an SPF only. Continue applying ZO skin Health hydrating cream when feeling dry throughout the day.
- Redness and/or swelling is common and will resolve over time.
- Avoid chemical peels and other laser procedures in the area to be treated for 2 weeks prior and two weeks after your laser treatment
- Try not to apply make/up for 24 hours after treatment.
Hair Restoration with Exosomes/PRP:
PRE TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Prior to appointment please stay hydrated. Ensure drinking water a day before and the day a procedure.
AVOID Advil, Aleve, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Naprosyn, (all non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents), Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver, Essential Fatty Acids (EPA, DHA), for at least 1 week prior to treatment,.
Keep your hair and scalp clean by not using any products that day of the appointment and avoid hair dye within three days of the procedure
POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
- DO NOT touch, press, rub or manipulate the treated area(s) for at least 8 hours after your treatment.
- It is normal to experience bruising, redness, itching, swelling and/or soreness that may last from 2-5 days following your procedure. If you experience any pain or discomfort you may take Tylenol or other Acetaminophen-containing products as directed.
- Do not wet your hair for at least 3 hours after your treatment.
- For the first 3 days, use shampoo that is pH balanced. Other options include: Burt’s Bees BabyBee Shampoo and Wash, or Tea Tree Shampoo (any brand).
- Do not use any hair products for at least 6 hours after your treatment.
- AVOID saunas, steam rooms, swimming for 2 days after your treatment.
- AVOID vigorous exercise, sun and heat exposure for at least 2 days after your treatment.
- AVOID alcohol, caffeine, and cigarettes for 3 days after treatment. Smokers do not heal well and problems recur earlier and results may take longer.
- AVOID resuming Minoxidil (Formula 82M, Rogaine®) or hair coloring or straightening for 3 days.Continue increased water intake the first week after your treatment.
